Credit Card Data Leaked Online – The first day of the year had recorded the biggest data leak for a while in India. The Credit and Debit Card details of approximately 100 million customers are leaked online and selling on Dark Web. The transaction data are lifted from fintech service provider Juspay.
The Bengaluru-based digital payments platform, Juspay, processes online transactions of big platforms like Amazon, MakeMyTrip, Airtel, Flipkart, Uber and Swiggy.

Juspay has acknowledged the breach of data in the month of August 2020 itself but the data seems to have surfaced only now as a dump offered for sale — by several persons or one person using many IDs — on the Dark Web.
The breach and Credit Card Data Leaked Online took place during March 2017 and August 2020. Juspay had claimed:
“On August 18, 2020, an unauthorized attempt on our servers was detected and terminated when in progress. No card numbers, financial credentials or transaction data were compromised.”
The earliest records pertain to March 2017, while there are no data records after August 2020.
