Now Government Officials Numbers will be made available on Caller identification app Truecaller. This app will have government officials number registered on its app for android & iOS. This will be called Digital government contact directory and it will protect its users from scammers who claim to be government officials. The phone directory will give users access to thousands of verified contacts of government officials, including helplines, law enforcement agencies, embassies, educational institutes, hospitals, and other key departments of about 23 states, including union territories.
With this new feature on Truecaller, whenever a government official will call someone, the user can spot a green background with a blue tick. This means that the contact is verified. Meanwhile, the telecom regulator TRAI is set to roll out its mobile phone caller identity system—verified by KYC or know your customer details—within the next three weeks. This new initiative of National caller ID system will the caller apps like Truecaller.

As of now, the latest security feature is available for the Android version of the Truecaller app for Government Officials Numbers on Truecaller, but there is no official information on when the iOS version of the app will receive this update.
